Once a narrow-gauge railway connecting Trieste and Poreč from 1902 to 1935, Parenzana played a vital role in Istria's economic growth. It transported wine and olive oil from Buje and Motovun, salt from Piran and Sečovlje, as well as stone, coal, wood, and agricultural products from surrounding villages. Today, it's a scenic bike trail, perfect for exploring the region's rich history and natural beauty.
